What is a burn ban?
A burn ban is an order that prohibits or restricts outdoor burning while dry conditions make wildfires likely. In Oklahoma it is issued by the board of county commissioners, by resolution and with the documented concurrence of a majority of the county's fire chiefs, under 2 O.S. §16-26.
